What is Android ...?

Each and every smartphone has an operating system basically which has all the features under it. Android is also a mobile phone operating system used in many smartphones , designed for touch screen mobiles nowadays which is developed by Google. It is an open source Linux platform operating system. One may ask what does open source mean..? Let me clear that open source basically means that the source code is provided along with the compile code (Run time). Developer can use the source code and can redevelop it or make changes according to their needs. Modification in the source code is encouraged to developers. There are no restrictions in open source community everyone can modify it and distribute it around the community.

Android has a good market and stores available easily i.e Google Play etc . Android Operating system has many flavors that will be discussed in the next post :-)
